Hi! I'm Liz, the creator/owner/CEO or whatever it is that you call someone who started a website on a whim! I started this website as a home base for all of the things I love. Whether its finding treasures, creating products or just reading my blogs, I hope you'll find what you need here!

I chose the name Vida Verde for a few reasons. First, I’m so very proud of my Hispanic roots—this seemed like a fun way to honor that. Second, I’m all about trying to live a “green” life, even if it’s mostly just recycling my coffee cups. And lastly, green is my happy color—it just makes everything feel a little more peaceful, even when life is a hot mess.

So, welcome! I hope you love it here, or at least mildly tolerate it.

It all started with a candle. When I stopped working at Crate & Barrel and lost my sweet discount on my favorite $28 candle, I had a harsh realization: I couldn't afford to burn a $28 candle every week. So, I tried a bunch of samples (probably too many) until I finally created something I was actually proud of.

At first, I made candles for friends and family—because who doesn’t love a free gift?—and then slowly started selling to small businesses. I wanted to make it easy for existing customers to refill their candles in an effort to keep more candle jars out of the landfill...and maybe you'll stumble upon a few other cool finds along the way!

Along with candle refills and collections, my goal is to bring you a few cool things that are inspired by my incredibly exciting life (or, at least the parts I remember). Travel has always been a passion of mine, so a lot of the items I curate for this site are things I’ve picked up from my past adventures.

I also plan to offer some thrifted treasures and fun finds that’ll hopefully make your home look a little more stylish (or at least like you tried).
